An incident at the Walmart in Canandaigua on Wednesday resulted in the arrest of a man from Pennsylvania.
It was reported to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office that 34-year-old Douglas Wyman was allegedly berating family members who were with him. Through an investigation, it was determined that Wyman got into a child’s face and yelled, which scared them. It was also reported that Wyman was throwing groceries aggressively into the backseat, where three young children were located. Police determined that Wyman’s actions were likely injurious to the physical, mental, or moral welfare of the children.
Wyman was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and brought to the Ontario County Jail to await arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
