Penn Yan Woman Facing Multiple Animal Cruelty Charges

SHARE NOW

On Wednesday, deputies arrested Crystal Fiero on six counts of animal cruelty following an investigation into living conditions at a Town of Torrey residence.

The 43-year-old Penn Yan resident is accused of Overdriving, Torturing, and Injuring Animals, as well as Failure to Provide Sustenance. The investigation, which began in January, revealed that Fiero was allegedly in possession of five dogs and one cat kept in unsafe and unsanitary conditions.

Authorities seized all six animals and transported them to the local humane society, where they were evaluated and provided with necessary care.

Fiero was issued an appearance ticket and released. She is scheduled to answer the charges in Torrey Town Court at a later date.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
