A Penn Yan woman was arrested on drunk driving charges following a traffic stop in the village.
According to Penn Yan Police, 52-year-old Nicole Willoughby was pulled over on East Elm Street after a DMV check showed the vehicle she was driving had an expired inspection as of June 30, 2025.
During the stop, officers said Willoughby showed several signs of intoxication, including glassy eyes, slurred speech, and the odor of alcohol. She failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.
Police say Willoughby refused a chemical breath test after being transported to the Yates County Jail. She was later processed at Penn Yan Police Department and charged with Driving While Intoxicated (Common Law) and Uninspected Motor Vehicle.
Willoughby was returned to the Yates County Jail to await arraignmen
