A Penn Yan woman is facing charges after police say she entered an apartment without permission and refused to leave.
According to the Penn Yan Police Department, 25-year-old Alexandra Hudson was arrested and charged with Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree following an incident on Carpenter Lane.
Officers were dispatched to an apartment complex after receiving a report of a woman entering a unit that was not hers and refusing to leave. When police arrived, the suspect—later identified as Hudson—had already left the scene. The victim and a witness told officers that Hudson entered the apartment without permission and ignored multiple requests to leave.
Hudson was later located near the scene and taken into custody without incident. She was processed at the Penn Yan Police Department and released with an appearance ticket.
Hudson is scheduled to appear in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date to answer the charge.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
