On Monday, Penn Yan Police arrested a 72-year-old local woman following a theft investigation at a village business.
Betty Woodside was charged with Petit Larceny and transported to the Penn Yan Police Department for processing.
The arrest stems from an incident where Woodside allegedly stole merchandise from a local establishment. Woodside was processed and later released on an appearance ticket. She is scheduled to appear in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date to answer to the charge.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
