A Penn Yan woman was arrested following a traffic stop in the Village of Penn Yan.
Penn Yan Police say 53-year-old Nicole Willoughby was stopped on December 27 after officers observed her operating a vehicle on East Main Street while possessing only a non-driver identification card. During the traffic stop, officers determined that Willoughby was subject to an ignition interlock device restriction and that the vehicle she was operating was not equipped with the required device.
Willoughby was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Second Degree, Unlicensed Operator, and Operating a Vehicle Without an Ignition Interlock Device.
She was issued appearance tickets and released. Willoughby is scheduled to appear in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
