A domestic incident on Himrod Road Saturday resulted in the arrest of a Penn Yan woman.
After they arrived on the scene, Erika Haight was allegedly belligerent with Yates County Sheriff’s Deputies as they attempted to conduct their investigation. Haight reported refused multiple orders and was subsequently arrested. Further investigation revealed the 32-year-old allegedly had hit another person in front of children during the domestic incident. After Haight was taken to the Yates County Jail for processing, she allegedly kicked a corrections officer in the leg.
Haight was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, disorderly conduct, harassment, and resisting arrest.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
