A 17-year-old in Penn Yan was arrested by village police for allegedly threatening to kill another person.
The teen is accused of making the threat while in the presence of the police.
The teen, who was not identified, was charged with harassment and criminal contempt and was released on an appearance ticket to appear at Yates County Probation at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
