Penn Yan Police have arrested a Canandaigua man on a warrant charging him with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. The charge against 32-year-old Adam Mahan stems from an alleged cocaine possession incident that took place in March.
Mahan was already being held at the Ontario County Jail on unrelated charges when officers took him into custody on the new warrant. He was transported to Penn Yan Village Court for arraignment on the drug possession charge.
Following the arraignment, Mahan was released on the new charges and returned to the Ontario County Jail.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
