A traffic stop in the village of Penn Yan resulted in the arrest of the driver.
Christine Youngs was initially pulled over for driving an uninspected car. During the traffic stop, Penn Yan Police Officers observed Youngs allegedly display several signs of intoxication. The 53-year-old was placed through a series of field sobriety tests, which she reportedly failed.
Youngs was taken into custody and transported to the Yates County Public Safety Building for a chemical test, which revealed her blood alcohol content to be .11 percent.
Youngs was charged with DWI, DWI .08% or greater, and uninspected motor vehicle. She was released on an appearance ticket for Penn Yan Village Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
