A Penn Yan man faces charges following an altercation earlier this fall.
According to Penn Yan Police, 38-year-old Joshua Nava was issued a criminal summons for second-degree harassment after allegedly striking a village resident in the face during an incident on October 6.
While processing the charge, officers discovered Nava also had an active warrant issued by Ulster County Family Court. The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office was contacted and later took Nava into custody on that warrant.
Nava is scheduled to appear in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
