A Penn Yan man faces multiple charges after deputies responded to a rollover crash on Pre Emption Road in Benton on Friday.
According to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, deputies, along with Bellona Fire and Penn Yan Ambulance, were dispatched to the scene for a report of a one-car crash. Responders located a heavily damaged pickup truck that had struck a telephone pole.
The driver, 27-year-old Tucker Parmelee was found walking in a nearby field and showed signs of intoxication. Deputies also determined that Parmelee did not have permission to operate the vehicle.
Parmelee was administered standardized field sobriety tests and then transported to the Yates County Jail for a chemical breath test.
He was charged with:
- Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree (A misdemeanor)
- Driving While Intoxicated (misdemeanor)
- Driving While Ability Impaired (violation)
- Unlicensed Operation (violation)
- Speed Not Reasonable and Prudent (violation)
- Moved from Lane Unsafely (violation)
Parmelee was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Benton Town Court at a later date.
