The Yates County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Penn Yan man following a traffic stop in the village early Saturday morning.
Deputies say they stopped a vehicle around 2:02 a.m. on August 30 after observing it being driven erratically on East Elm Street. The driver, identified as 32-year-old Eric Dominguez, showed signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests.
Dominguez was charged with common law DWI, moving from a lane unsafely, and unlicensed operation. He was taken to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and released with tickets to appear in court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
