Penn Yan Man Arrested on Warrant Out of Gates

A Penn Yan man was arrested following a traffic stop in the Yates County Village.

Matthew Kennedy was identified by Penn Yan Police as a passenger in the car that was stopped. Officers were able to confirm Kennedy had a warrant out of the city of Gates for criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Kennedy was taken into custody and was later turned over to the Gates Police Department.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
