Yates County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Travis Vermilye of Penn Yan after stopping him for a traffic violation during a domestic violence investigation.
Officials say Vermilye was driving westbound on East Sherman Hollow Road in the Town of Jerusalem when deputies conducted a traffic stop. He was then subjected to Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and taken into custody.
Vermilye refused a chemical test at Soldiers and Sailors Hospital and was subsequently transported to Yates County Jail. He is being held pending his next appearance in Yates County CAP court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
