Penn Yan Police say a village man was taken into custody this week on a bench warrant.
Officers arrested 40-year-old Demetrius Murphy on a warrant issued by New York State Police Troop E for failure to appear on a fourth-degree criminal mischief charge.
Murphy was turned over to State Police following his arrest.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
