A Penn Yan man was arrested on felony DWI charges after deputies found his vehicle in a ditch in the Town of Benton.
According to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to Havens Corners Road near Flat Street just after 10 on Tuesday morning for a report of a motor vehicle off the roadway. Deputies say the driver, identified as 55-year-old Larry Enos, was subjected to standardized field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.
Enos was charged with felony driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content greater than .08 percent, driving while intoxicated, and moving from a lane unsafely.
He was held pending arraignment in Yates County CAP Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
