Penn Yan Police say a village man has been arrested after damaging a vehicle window with a hammer.
Officers responded to the report and took 42-year-old Matthew Kennedy into custody a short time later. He was processed at the Penn Yan Police Department and then taken to the Yates County Jail.
Police say Kennedy was held pending arraignment for the purpose of obtaining an order of protection.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
