Two people have been arrested, including a person under the age of 18, following the investigation into a burglary that occurred at a village of Penn Yan business sometime between December 19th and 20th.
23-year-old Michael Hand, Junior, and the unidentified adolescent offender, are accused of breaking into the unnamed business and stealing $1,600 in cash. Hand and the youthful offender were charged with burglary and grand larceny.
Hand will appear in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date while the adolescent offender was released to a legal guardian and will have their case handled in Yates County Family Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
