A Penn Yan man has been arrested following a verbal dispute in the village.
Police say 64-year-old Vincent Scarpechi was charged with second-degree menacing after an argument in the parking lot of a local business. During the confrontation, Scarpechi allegedly displayed a knife. Officers collected statements from everyone involved.
Scarpechi was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Penn Yan Village Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
