The investigation into a domestic incident in the village of Penn Yan resulted in the arrest of a Penn Yan man.
It is alleged that during an argument with his victim, William Hamilton, Junior, placed his arm around her throat, which obstructed her breathing as she attempted to leave. It is also alleged that the night before this incident, Hamilton forced the woman to have sex with him. The 59-year-old is also accused of damaging multiple items throughout the victim’s home.
Hamilton was charged with criminal mischief, sexual misconduct, harassment, and criminal obstruction of breathing.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
