A Penfield man led police on a pursuit Saturday night after he failed to pull over for a traffic stop.
30-year-old Cody Shurgot was spotted passing cars on Route 104 in Sodus in a no-passing zone by Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies. Shurgot attempted to flee but eventually pulled over a short time later. It was determined Shurgot was allegedly driving drunk and he voluntarily gave a chemical breath test, which according to the Sheriff’s Office determined his BAC to be .14%.
Shurgot was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated with a BAC of .08% or greater, unlawful fleeing from police as well as multiple vehicle and traffic infractions such as speeding, failure to stop at a stop sign, improper passing, and moving from lane unsafely.
Shurgot was released on appearance tickets.
