A home visit at a Chestnut Street residence in Ithaca by the New York State Department of Corrections Parole Unit resulted in the arrest of a 27-year-old Florida man.
During an inspection of the home located in the 600 block, officers with the Ithaca Police Department found 26 grams of cocaine and $4,716 in cash. The items were determined to belong to another resident, and not the parole.
Sean Canales of Homestead was charged with two felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Following his arraignment, Canales was released to appear in Ithaca City Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
