A one-car accident in Palmyra early Saturday morning resulted in the arrest of a Palmyra man.
While investigating the accident, deputies detected the odor of a consumed alcoholic beverage emanating from Colin Vanhaneghan’s breath as well as bloodshot watery eyes. Vanhaneghan was placed through standardized field sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Vanhaneghan provided a breath sample which yielded a .11 of 1% BAC.
Vanhaneghan was charged with driving while intoxicated and failing to stop at a stop sign. He will be back in Palmyra Town Court at a later date to answer the charge.
