A Palmyra man has been charged with criminal possession of a firearm for an incident that happened earlier this year.
On January 18th, Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a home after a resident had discovered a loaded sawed-off shotgun inside of the home and wanted it removed. During the investigation, it was also discovered that the loaded, modified shotgun had not been stored properly and was easily accessible to a young child.
29-year-old Travis Weterrings turned himself in to law enforcement on Friday on charges of criminal possession of a firearm, failure to safely secure a firearm and endangering the welfare of a child.
Following processing, Weterrings was released on an appearance ticket.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
