Palmyra Man Arrested for Felony DWI After Near-Collision

SHARE NOW

A traffic stop in the Village of Palmyra led to the arrest of a local man on felony DWI charges, according to the Palmyra Police Department.

Around 9:49 p.m. on July 12, an officer observed a black pickup truck speeding, with a loud modified exhaust, and following another vehicle too closely on East Main Street. The truck reportedly came close to rear-ending the car ahead before braking sharply near the intersection with Cuyler Street.

Police say the driver, identified as 26-year-old Bradley Garrow in Macedon, was found to be intoxicated. At the Palmyra Police Department, Garrow submitted to a chemical breath test, which showed a blood alcohol content of 0.16% — twice the legal limit.

Garrow was charged with two Class E felony counts of DWI under New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law Sections 1192(2) and 1192(3), due to a prior DWI conviction within the last 10 years. He was also cited for five additional traffic violations, including following too closely and operating a vehicle with a modified exhaust system.

Garrow is scheduled to return to Palmyra court at a later date.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
