An Owasco man has been charged with public lewdness after being spotted by several people, including police, running naked outdoors.
According to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, Timothy Church initially failed to comply with commands during the May 10th incident but was eventually taken into custody. A further investigation found that the 37-year-old had allegedly displayed intimate parts of his body in a lewd manner to three children, all under the age of 16. It was also discovered that while naked, Church had allegedly entered a home without the owner’s consent.
On Thursday, Church was arrested on a warrant for public lewdness, resisting arrest, and trespass. Church was released with a future court date in the Owasco Town Court.
An Order of Protection was granted to the children.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
