An Ovid woman has been arrested on grand larceny and welfare fraud charges.
It is alleged that 27-year-old Courtney Bower falsified an application that she submitted to the Seneca County Department of Human Services, which led to her receiving over $1,000 in benefits she was not entitled to.
Bower was also charged with offering a false instrument for filing and was turned over to the Seneca County Jail for processing and arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
