The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of an Ovid man after he allegedly nearly caused an accident while failing to yield the right of way at a stop sign.
Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the town of Ovid and determined the driver, 81-year-old David Jackson, was driving drunk. Jackson was brought to the Law Enforcement Center, where he later submitted to a Chemical Breath Test, resulting in a .09% BAC.
Jackson was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and was released to appear in Ovid Town Court.
New York State Police assisted on the scene.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
