The investigation into a forgery complaint in Wayne County resulted in the arrest of a Town of Ontario woman.
The charges against Kira Bass stem from an investigation into a forgery complaint and it is alleged that Bass, who was a recipient of Emergency Food Vouchers, altered the effective date range on said vouchers to use it a second time, which violates the rules and regulations of the program. As a result, Bass utilized the voucher for $48.48 which she was not entitled to at the Save-A-Lot store in Ontario.
Bass was charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of a forged instrument.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
