An Ontario man is facing charges in Wayne County after being a suspect in three separate larcenies and leading police on a chase.
It is alleged that on Thursday, James Clark stole items from Walgreens, Save-A-Lot and Dollar General in the town of Ontario. When deputies arrived on the scene and attempted to make contact with Clark, the 62-year-old reportedly sped off, leading Deputies on a vehicle pursuit. The pursuit came to an end on Ridge Road where Clark led Deputies on a short foot chase through a residence. Clark was tazed and taken into custody.
Clark was arrested for petit larceny, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, criminal possession of stolen property, reckless endangerment, and multiple vehicle and traffic violations. Clark was also found to have numerous warrants for petit larcenies, failure to appear as well as a bench warrant for a failure to appear for sentencing out of the Town of Ontario.
Clark is being held in Wayne County Jail.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
