The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a town of Ontario man following the investigation of a domestic violation complaint.
It is alleged that Luis Rodriguez was involved in a verbal altercation with a woman that turned physical with the victim. During the altercation, the 47-year-old Rodriguez grabbed the victim by her throat causing her to almost lose consciousness. Rodriguez is accused of punching her in the face causing visible physical injury. He then went into the kitchen and grabbed a knife making the victim fearful for her physical wellbeing.
Rodriguez was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, assault, criminal obstruction of breathing, menacing, and criminal possession of a weapon.
Rodriguez was transported to CAP to be arraigned at a later date and time.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
