Ontario County Inmate Accused of Possessing Drugs

An inmate at the Ontario County Jail has been charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Spencer Tapscott’s arrest stems from an investigation into the introduction of contraband into the jail. The 23-year-old is accused of having a controlled substance and other contraband brought to him in jail by another person on February 3rd. Investigators determined Tapscott did intend to sell the drugs and contraband to other inmates.

Tapscott was arrested at the jail where he was being held on unrelated charges and will continue to be held.

Additional charges against Tapscott will be presented to the grand jury and other arrests are pending.
