A drunk driver caused a three-car motor vehicle accident Friday night in the Town of Jerusalem.
According to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and first responders went to Italy Hill Road around 9:45 for the report of the crash. An investigation determined that 25-year-old Kaitlyn Dechert of Corning failed to stop at a stop sign at Darbys Corners. She then collided with another vehicle. After that collision, she spun and hit a third vehicle that was stopped on Armstrong Road.
After a series of field sobriety tests, Dechert was charged with Common Law DWI, Aggravated DWI, and Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign. She was taken to the Yates County Jail for arraignment.
