A Newark woman has been arrested after allegedly attempting to use a stolen credit card at Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, 70-year-old Iris Velazquez was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property on Monday. Deputies say Velazquez tried to use the stolen card to withdraw cash at a cage teller window. Casino employees alerted law enforcement, who located her still on site.
Velazquez was taken into custody without incident and later released with an appearance ticket.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
