A Newark woman is facing multiple charges after being stopped at a roadside checkpoint on East Union Street, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrested 22-year-old Ella Fontanez following field sobriety tests that indicated she was intoxicated. A breath test later revealed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.15%.
Fontanez was charged with Felony DWI, driving with a BAC over 0.08%, operating a vehicle without a required interlock device, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the First Degree.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
