lice took a Newark woman into custody after she allegedly threatened others with a handgun. Officers took Nicole Bethea into custody near Church and Hoffman Streets. The complainant showed police where Bethea allegedly hid the handgun and officers recovered a .380 caliber pistol.
An investigation determined Bethea threatened to shoot several people while she was in possession of the handgun and that the incident occurred in the presence of children and while an active Order of Protection was in place.
The 43-year-old Bethea was charged with menacing and four counts of endangering the welfare of a child and was sent to Wayne County Jail following her arraignment.
