A Newark woman was arrested by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office on Monday on two counts of forgery and two counts of offering a false instrument for filing.
It is alleged that 34-year-old Mary Flynn completed two petitions requesting orders of protection through Wayne County Family Court without the knowledge of the respondents. On these documents, Flynn is accused of forging the names of the respondents and forging the name of a notary public. Flynn then allegedly submitted both of the forged petitions to the Family Court.
Flynn was brought to Wayne County Jail to await arraignment following her arrest.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
