A Newark man has been arrested following a drug investigation dating back to October 2024.
On Thursday, Michael Jones was taken into custody. The investigation began after controlled narcotics buys led to a search warrant executed at Jones’ residence. Authorities recovered over 30 grams of crack cocaine during the search.
Jones faces multiple charges, including criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree with intent to sell and criminal possession for possessing more than half an ounce of narcotics, both Class B felonies.
The Newark Police Department assisted the Sheriff’s Office throughout the investigation.
Jones was transported to the Wayne County Jail and is scheduled to appear for a Centralized Arraignment Part hearing
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
