A Newark man is facing a burglary charge in Canandaigua.
It is alleged that on Monday night, Nelson Betances broke into a residence on Chapin Street and committed a larceny. Betances was located by Canandaigua Police while fleeing the scene and subsequently arrested.
The 30-year-old was charged with burglary and aggravated family offense. Betances was sent to the Ontario County Jail to await arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
