The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Moravia man.
A deputy was driving on Aurora Street in the village of Moravia when they observed a car traveling in the oncoming lane cross over into their lane, leave the roadway, come back onto the roadway and then begin traveling in the correct lane of traffic. A traffic stop was then initiated and during the stop, the driver and sole occupant, 32-year-old Andrew Clay, was determined to be driving while impaired by drugs.
Clay was arrested and brought to the Public Safety Building where he was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert.
Clay was charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs along with multiple traffic infractions.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
