A Mentz man has been arrested on charges stemming from an incident that happened more than three years ago.
It is alleged that on September 27, 2021, members of the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office investigated a domestic incident that had been reportedly occurring over a several-week period. It was alleged that Bryan Whyte had been harassing a woman. It was discovered that Whyte had been following the woman around and taking pictures of her along with continuously sending harassing messages and calls. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Whyte had avoided any attempts by the police to locate him and an arrest warrant was signed by a judge.
On February 12th, deputies were finally able to locate Whyte and take him into custody. Whyte is charged with stalking and aggravated harassment.
Whyte was transported to the Public Safety Building where he was processed on the charges and turned over to CCJ for CAP Court arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
