New York State Police say a Massachusetts man has been arrested following an investigation into the online exploitation of a minor in Steuben County.
Troopers arrested 29-year-old Estefan Henriquez on Wednesday after he allegedly engaged in sexually explicit communications with a 14-year-old girl and arranged to travel to meet her. Investigators say Henriquez had previously met the victim in person and had continued sending explicit messages in the days before his arrest.
Around 2:58 a.m. Wednesday, troopers observed Henriquez’s vehicle arrive at a prearranged location in the village of Canisteo. He was taken into custody without incident and processed at State Police in Hornell.
Henriquez faces multiple charges, including:
- Kidnapping 2nd as sexually motivated (B felony)
- Rape 2nd involving a victim under 15 (two counts, D felony)
- Endangering the welfare of a child (A misdemeanor)
- Attempted kidnapping 2nd as sexually motivated (C felony)
- Attempted rape 2nd involving a victim under 15 (two counts, E felony)
- Attempted endangering the welfare of a child (B misdemeanor)
He was taken to the Steuben County Jail for arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
