Police arrested a Martville woman after she allegedly drove drunk to pick up students from an elementary school.
On April 4th, Cayuga County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a possible domestic violence incident at an address in Victory. While investigating, deputies were notified that the alleged people involved were at the student pick-up line at Cato Elementary School waiting to pick up children. The car was located and the driver, 47-year-old Susan Maund, was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. Maund was taken into custody and transported to the Public Safety Building where it was determined her blood alcohol content was .22%.
Maund was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, and Attempted Endangering the Welfare of a Child. She was released on appearance tickets for Ira Town Court.
A passenger in the car, 43-year-old Charles Kirk, of Victory, was found to be in violation of a full stay-away order of protection issued by a court as Maund was the protected party. Kirk was arrested on school grounds and charged with criminal contempt. Following his arraignment, Kirk was sent to Cayuga County Jail in lieu of bail.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
