A Marion man has been charged after deputies say he tried to run another vehicle off the road with children inside.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says 33-year-old Steven Garcia Ortiz was arrested following an investigation into a vehicle and traffic complaint. Investigators allege Garcia Ortiz attempted to force the victim’s vehicle off the road while four juveniles were inside.
He is charged with endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree reckless endangerment. Garcia Ortiz was processed and released on an appearance ticket for Marion Town Court on August 20.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
