A Marion man is facing charges after deputies say he stole alcohol and a lighter from a local gas station.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested 39-year-old Ryan Lawliss following a larceny investigation at the Speedway on Route 21 in Marion. Deputies say surveillance video shows Lawliss hiding two Mike’s Harder Black Cherry Lemonades in his waistband and a lighter in his pocket before leaving the store without paying.
Lawliss was located, arrested, and processed at the Wayne County Jail. He was released with an appearance ticket and is due in Marion Town Court on August 6th.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
