One man is facing charges after locking himself in a Throop home following a Sunday morning domestic incident.

According to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the residence around 6:45a. The female victim was taken to the Public Safety Building where it was discovered that Kenneth Currier allegedly struck her in the head with a case of beer, pulled her from the home, and turned off her cell phone when she attempted to call 911.

Currier locked himself in the home for over an hour until law enforcement and his family members convinced him to exit peacefully.

Currier was charged with Menacing and Criminal Mischief. He was arraigned and released in accordance with the state’s bail reform laws.
