A Steuben County man already in jail is now facing additional felony charges stemming from a violent incident last fall.
The Sheriff’s Office says 22-year-old Zachary Courtney of Canaseraga was arrested June 27th on a warrant connected to a September 2024 incident in the Town of Dansville.
Authorities allege Courtney, along with at least two others, forcibly stole property worth over $1,000 while using a firearm and assaulted another person during the robbery.
He’s now charged with multiple felonies, including first-degree robbery, assault, and criminal use of a firearm, as well as gang assault, grand larceny, and conspiracy.
Courtney was arraigned and returned to the Steuben County Jail.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
