One man is facing charges after fleeing the scene of a Thursday car crash.
According to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened just before midnight at the intersection of Routes 176 and 370 in the Town of Cato.
Deputies were soon able to locate the pickup truck that fled the scene in the Village of Meridian.
An investigation determined that Dominick Hart was under the influence of alcohol when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of the two roads, causing the collision with a vehicle travelling on Rt 370.
Hart was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, DWI first offense, DWI common law, and other traffic violations.
He was taken to the public safety building for processing and is scheduled to appear in Cato Town Court on Monday to answer the charges against him.
