Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson reports that on March 10th, 2024, Sheriff’s Investigators arrested Ron E. Poore age 40 of 734 Marston Road Gardiner, Maine. Poore was taken into custody at a Town of Tyre business following an intense police response to the State Route 318 and State Route 414 corridor from multiple law enforcement agencies for the report of multiple robbery incidents.

On March 9th at approximately 1:59 PM Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Loves Travel Stop for the report of a 67-year-old woman who had been the victim of a robbery of 0.00 at the ATM within the store. It was reported that the male suspect fled southbound from the location in a maroon in color SUV. Upon arrival Deputies located the victim and immediately began investigating while other law enforcement officers searched the area for the vehicle and suspect. After an extensive search of the area and its other businesses the suspect and vehicle were not located.

On March 10th at approximately 11:40 AM Seneca County E911 received another 911 call reporting a robbery of a business also located in the State Route 318 and State Route 414 corridor. The white male suspect in this incident was described by the caller and matched the same description as the suspect from the March 9th case. The suspect was reported to have fled the business after stealing an undisclosed amount of money from the clerk and cash drawer. He was seen leaving in a maroon in color SUV traveling westbound on State Route 318. At that time there was a heavy law enforcement response to the area to assist.

At 12:00PM Seneca County E911 received yet another 911 call from an employee of a different business located in the same general vicinity of the prior two incidents. The caller in this incident reported an attempted armed robbery of a male employee at the business. The suspect in this incident also reportedly fled in a maroon-colored SUV.

A short time later a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle description was located in the parking lot of another area business. At that time law enforcement secured the area and a coordinated entry was made into the business by responding law enforcement and on-site security at the business. At approximately 12:26 PM Ron E. Poore was taken into custody as he tried to flee from inside the business. The vehicle Poore had been operating during the times of the three incidents was a vehicle stolen by force in the Town of Gates, Monroe County, NY.

Poore was charged with Robbery 3rd degree and Petit Larceny for the theft by force that occurred on March 9th. He was charged with Robbery 3rd degree and Petit Larceny for the incident reported at 11:40 AM on March 10th and one count of Attempted Robbery 3rd degree for the incident reported at 12:00PM. Ronald E. Poore was held awaiting arraignment at Seneca County CAP Court on March 11th 2024 at 8:00 AM.

Due to New York State’s bail reform legislation, Ron E. Poore was released on his own recognizance from the custody of the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office at that time. Poore is scheduled to appear at the Town of Tyre Court on March 13th, 2024, for further court action.
